About the bracelets:
Ankle or Wrist
The wrist bracelets we have featured are traditionally worn on the ankles and still can be but the modern times have now brought these beautiful bracelets up to arm's length! Very bulky but hollow, made of silver and crafted by the hand of an Omani artisan, these fantastic bracelets are hinged and held tight with a secure pin for easy placement and removal. This traditional design is not only a real eye catcher when worn but also makes a for a wonderful coffee table decoration.
The adult bracelet, shown above, for the ankle/wrist measures 4 inches across but has an inside diameter of 3 inches. The child size bracelet of the same design, click below, measures 3 1/4 inches with an inside diameter of only 2 inches. It, too, is hinged and secured with a pin. Unlike the adult bracelet, the child's bracelet typically contains some baubles inside so that when worn, a sweet jingling sound can be heard. Entertaining for the child, as well it makes for a great child monitor for mom!
Amulets
The wonderful amulets are worn on the upper part of the arm and are a traditional Omani design, hollow, made of silver and crafted by the hand of an Omani artisan. They just slip on and are pushed up above the elbow.
The price and weight difference as noted above are correct. In fact, the smaller bracelet does outweigh the larger bracelet and, therefore, costs more, though both are hollow the thickness of the metal used on the smaller bracelet is greater which is the reason for the increased weight.
The smaller amulet measures 5 inches across with an inside diameter of 3 1/2 inches. There's no exact way of knowing but based on those who have bought it, it appears that a woman of average height and proper weight could probably wear this amulet with comfort.
The larger amulet, better suited for a woman with larger upper arms, measures 5 1/2 inches across with an inside diameter of 4 inches.
We suggest a measurement of your upper arming be taken before placing your order to avoid the difficulty of exchanging for a different size.
